Indestructible Tables

One of the shows in this repertory called for a dinning table to be violently flipped over in the middle of a scene. Not wanting to have to buy/built new tables after every performance, I was tasked with building three tables out of steel

Since these tables were to be used in all three shows, they were given a very simple design that could work in any setting. The legs and frames were cut from tube steel and welded together. The table top itself was made of MDF that was securely affixed to the frames using wood-to-metal glue, Tek screws, and angle brackets. The steel and MDF were wood grained to give the appearance of real wood. All three tables survived the run of the show without issue.

Other Smalls

While the majority of the props used in the MFA Rep were able to be pulled from our stock inventory, a few unique pieces needed to be built.

One show took place in a toy store. For this I constructed a puppet theater out of foam core boards and printed textures. I also built a display stand for the finger puppets to go along with it.

The last item I built for the rep was a wine glass holder that affixed to an ice bucket. This was cut from luan and given a wood grained texture treatment.
